Response from Sefton LINk to the Draft Quality Accounts miniguide for LINks

“The tying of the Local Authority area in which the Provider has their head office is far from acceptable and not of value especially when the response to the accounts is restricted to one LINk collating the views of what may be several LINks and also when views may have wide variations. This idea will be disempowering to LINks and also assumes that all local LINks have good relationships. It is also not made clear in the guidance if the 1000 word response includes the views of many LINks or if the lead LINk can provide a 1000 word response and can include 1000 responses from all local LINks who respond!!!!

This guide has also not considered the lead commissioner role of different Primary Care Trusts and the detailed work that the LINk may have been involved in with the principle commissioner.

The Steering Group are concerned that many providers whose patients are largely from Sefton may not have their head office in the borough, Aintree University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust being a local example. What happens when trust headquarters are over two sites?
