Minutes from the Meeting of OPEG

(Operational Patient Experience Group)



From the Meeting held on Wednesday, 8th December, 2010 at 1.30pm

Minutes of the previous meeting discussed and agreed as correct record.

CRB Clearance:



• CF Informed of New Trust Chaplain commencing January, 2011.

Group member stated that in order to keep the Chapels appearance tidy could consideration be given to prayer mats being placed in the cupboards instead of glass case. CF to ask TE to look at signage for this



• Members noted that chairs have gone missing from Chapel. To monitor.



• Members wished to thank Alex Galbraine for his support during his time in the trust whilst awaiting appointment of a new Chaplain.



Walkabout:



Information has been given to Tony Ellis about Discharge Lounge. The members wished to recommend advertising the discharge lounge to the public.



• Discharge Lounge further discussed ie: CF informed the group that the Discharge Patient Experience Questionnaire is completed in this area.



• Personal Issue raised - Theatre cold last week Mon. J. Spinks. Procedure cancelled and could patient have been informed prior to attending the hospital. CF to investigate



• Main Entrance – Concerns raised regarding the smokers and tea drinkers at the main entrance to SDGH site ‘ Looks like picket line’. Members of the group were informed of the trust policy and that all staff have the responsibility to police the policy.



• Members felt that this years Christmas Tree looked a little poor at the main entrance at SDGH.



• Guide Dogs and Working Dogs allowed on main entrance. Members noted that this used to be clearly sign posted and appears not to be currently. CF to report back.
