Blood donor sessions in Formby for November

NHS BLOOD and Transplant is aiming to increase the number of blood donors during the winter months, as seasonal illnesses often prevent regular donors from giving blood.

Thousands of people across England and North Wales rely on blood transfusions every day to save their lives.
Local hospitals need over 5,000 units of blood every week to treat patients involved in accidents, complications in childbirth, and those suffering from illnesses like cancer and anaemia.
The need for blood is constant, yet only 4 per cent of the eligible population are active blood donors.
If you are aged over 17, weigh more than 50kg (7 stone 12 lbs) and are in general good health then you could potentially save lives by becoming a blood donor.
The next donor session in Formby will be held on Friday, November 26, at Holy Trinity Parish Hall, Rosemary Lane, between 2pm and 4pm and 5.30pm and 7.30pm.
To book an appointment call the new Donor Line on 0300 123 23 23 or visit www.blood.co.uk
