Fears about transport links to hospital services will be left ‘dangerously inadequate’

Fears have been raised that transport links to hospital services in Maghull and Aintree will be left ‘dangerously inadequate’.
The government have cut Merseytravel funding by £10m, and Sefton Central MP Bill Esterson expects public transport in Maghull and Aintree to be hit hard.

He said: “People in all parts of this constituency rely on public transport which on the whole is very good.
“But when you consider that these government cuts are going to damage the service, then we really need to take action.
“I spoke to a woman in Maghull who was singing the praises of public transport near where she lives. “She was dreading seeing the effects of what the £10m cuts will mean to the services she relies on.”
