"A Public Health Panacea?" event

12th Annual Fresh Lecture
Urban Green Space: A Public Health Panacea?

Presented by Professor C. Philip Wheater
6pm, Wednesday 10th November 2010, Marybone Lecture Theatre
The Centre for Public Health is delighted to be hosting the 12th annual “Thomas Fresh” event in association with the Duncan Society.

The event celebrates the work of Thomas Fresh and William Henry Duncan who were respectively England’s first Inspector of Nuisances, the forerunner of today’s environmental health practitioners, and the first Medical Officer of Health. The event focuses on important environmental health issues at the centre of the public health debate.
The 2010 Fresh Lecture will explore potential of open spaces and the natural environment to increase physical activity and mental wellbeing.
The Centre for Public Health will be launching a new web resource “Go4Green” at the Fresh Lecture. This is designed to be a community resource for everyone interested in urban parks in the North West.
The event will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday November 10th at the Marybone Lecture Theatre.
Coffee and tea will be available before the debate and a light buffet will follow.
