Inspection prompts major concerns over cleanliness at Merseyside nursing home

Ashley Manor

MAJOR concerns were today raised about care and cleanliness at a Merseyside nursing home.
Ashley Manor in Waterloo has launched an action plan after a negative Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection.

The report said patient safety was being put at risk because of low staffing levels and added cleanliness had fallen below 'expected standards'.
‘Major’ concerns were recording in four areas overall

The body was tipped off by a worried relative.
A spokesman for the home said: "Ashley Manor was previously a two star (good) service, however unforeseen changes in the senior management structure lead to a deteriorate of support structures previously in place.
"The senior management have now been replaced by Health and Social Care Consultancy and Training Services who have now have had operational management responsibility for the service in the last eight weeks. (We are) working closely with the regulator, Sefton Council, residents and relatives to ensure that service improvements are made.
"A detailed improvement plan has been submitted to the regulator and local authority and both have approved the content and timescales within it."
