Sefton Council members agreed to a review of the service last year and feedback in relation to how this is now moving forward will be given to parents and carers at the meeting.
In November Cabinet members approved proposals to merge the management structure at Bishop David Sheppard School with one at Linaker Primary.
A proposal from the Freshfield Core Group for the Formby centre to remain is currently being examined by the review board.
The new management structures would keep all the centres open, while saving the cash-strapped council £900,000. A three-month consultation took place on the proposals. Just over 1,500 responses were received, of which 1,350 were users on children’s centres in the borough. The Children’s Centre Next Steps meeting is being held at Formby Professional Development Centre, Park Road, Formby, on Tuesday, January 31, from 10am-1pm. It is an open meeting for all parents and carers to attend where they can find out what was agreed following the review. They can also find out how feedback from the consultation will inform the service redesign and how parents can be involved in the future.
The event is being organised by Sefton Council, Sefton CVS and NHS Sefton.
Booking is essential and to attend, please call 0151 928 2233 or 07872 468920 or email betty.boner@seftoncvs.org.uk no later than Wednesday, January 25.
A creche is available on the day and parents and carers are asked to provide names and ages of their children who are attending in advance.
