We want you to have your say about the proposed changes to LINks by the Department of Health.
Across England, many people including the LINk membership already give up their time to help shape local health and social care services. In July 2010, the Government announced its plans to set up an independant champion for health and social care consumers called HealthWatch England.
The Government plans to build on the current role of LINks by turning them into Local HealthWatch - a citizen's advice bureau for health and social care. Legislation to establish HealthWatch is likely to be introduced as part of the forthcoming Health Bill. HealthWatch is expected to be up and running by 2012.
The proposals to change LINks into local HealthWatch were published as part of the White Paper 'Equity and Excellence: Liberating the NHS and consultation is currently running, ending on the 5th October 2010.
Sefton LINk wants local people and organisations to have their say about the propsals and is running 3 workshops during September to find out what you think and send a response to the Department of Health from local epople living, working and receiving services in Sefton.
