Anyone in Sefton who wants to quit smoking can now text 'Quit' to 80039 with their name and full postcode. They will then be contacted by NHS Sefton’s local stop smoking service, SUPPORT who will give advice on the best way to quit.
Cathy Warlow , NHS Sefton’s Head of Health Improvement and Partnerships said: “Stopping smoking is the single most important thing you can do to improve your health and wealth. Here in Sefton we know that 70% of smokers in the borough want to stop. We hope through this approach that it will be easier for people to access SUPPORT and help them quit".
Last year alone, SUPPORT, the local NHS stop smoking service, helped more than 3,000 residents quit by offering individual help and advice. If you smoke, why not give them a text on 80039 or call 0300 100 1000 to find out the best way to stop smoking?
Alternatively for more information on one of the many drop in clinics across the borough which are available six days a week call SUPPORT on 0300 100 1000
